We built Obsidian Gate Press because we were tired of waiting for permission.

For too long, Black fantasy, myth-tech, and prestige urban drama have been treated like niches. Like side quests to the “real” literary world. We know better. Our myths are the foundation. Our futures are divine architecture. Our stories don’t need to be diluted to be understood — they need to be built with the power they deserve.

Obsidian Gate Press is a Black-owned myth-tech publishing house forging prestige fiction, graphic novels, and cinematic storytelling. 

We don’t publish manuscripts. We publish worlds built with divine architecture, brutal beauty, and cultural power.

OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE:

To elevate creators who build universes — not just books. To publish stories that ascend. To forge a legacy of myth-tech imagination that will outlive us all.

What is myth-tech? It’s where myth converges with the modern world and gods walk in shadow. It’s ancient orisha code running through futuristic cities. It’s street liturgy meets celestial war. It’s where spirituality has systems, where power has a price, and where culture is the most advanced technology of all.

We are surgical about our slate. We only work within worlds that demand to exist.

Dark Fantasy — Not just dragons and darkness, but divinity with teeth. Stories where heaven is a hierarchy and hell has politics.

Myth-Tech & Sci-Fi — Black Futurism, African spirituality, and speculative tech fused into one canon.

Prestige Urban Drama — Loyalty, legacy, power, and pain carved from real streets and elevated to prestige television on the page. Like Deep Trenches and President’s Day.

Graphic Novels & Hybrid Cinematic Fiction — Because some stories need to be seen to be believed. Like A Gangsta’s Music — urban myth and cosmic rhythm.

This is our House of Ascension.

Right now, the gate is open on four foundational worlds: Ascension War — our myth-tech epic of divine warfare. A Gangsta’s Music — a graphic novel where urban myth meets cosmic rhythm. Deep Trenches — prestige drama carved from loyalty and legacy. And President’s Day — power, ambition, and street-level politics.

These aren’t just books. They are entries into a larger universe. A House where each story is a different floor, but the same blood runs through the walls.
